What is Domestic Violence Treatment?
Domestic violence (DV) treatment is typically ordered by the court after a person is convicted of a crime involving domestic violence. There are two main dv treatment courses (1) domestic violence moral reconation therapy (DV MRT) and (2) Domestic Violence Perpertrator Treatment Program (DVPTP). Both of these programs try to reduce the risk of future domestic violence through education.
TIP #1: DV MRT is almost always the first program ordered by the court. DV MRT costs much less than a DVPTP program.
TIP #2: DV MRT is offered at many local court probation departments and costs average around $100-$200.
